Job Description
A fine dining Italian restaurant based in Melbourne CBD seeks a talented pasta chef to join the team.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Be trained and help in the preparation of all food: specifically Italian cuisine & pasta section
• Assist in cleaning, set up & close down of the kitchen, so it is maintained to kitchen standards
• Assist in the production of high quality plates both design and taste
• Work with kitchen staff on the preparation, arrangement and plating of dishes per the menu
• Follow and listen to the direction of Head chef in planning and directing food preparation when needed
• Listen to all Management, Head chef and sous chef in order to be trained as kitchen staff
• Working with schedules
• Assist in ordering supplies to stock inventory appropriately
• Comply with and enforce food regulations and safety standards
• Maintain positive and professional approach with co-workers and customer
• Research Italian cuisine and apply your knowledge to create new dishes and work with seasonal produce
• Assist on working with food costings and budgets as directed
• Always practice COVID safety standards
Academic and Trade Qualifications
• Some Italian culinary experience is preferential
• Flexible schedule required however this is a Monday to Friday lunchtime restaurant with occasional night & weekend functions
• Team player

• Attention to detail
• Understanding of Italian language and food or at least a willingness to learn
Relationships
• Maintain a professional customer and staff relationship & adhere to company policy
• All recipes remain property of the restaurant & there must be transparent supplier relationships
